Welcome to Our Site - A Message From Dr. Michel

Welcome to our new website and blog! Texarkana Endodontics is undergoing many exciting changes that we want to share with everyone!

New Doctor

As many of you may already be aware, Quinton and Stacey have moved to Annapolis, Maryland. He was offered an opportunity to become a partner in the practice where he worked previously when he lived in Annapolis. Since I am the new guy I want to give you some nuggets of information about me.

I was born in Kansas City, Missouri, but much of my childhood was spent living overseas. I lived in Saudi Arabia, 9.5 yrs, and Guam, 2.5 yrs. I then returned to Kansas City to finish high school. After high school, I jumped right into a combined 6-year program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, earning a B.A. degree in Biology and my Doctor of Dental Science. I joined the US Army right after graduating dental school and served as a general dentist for the 2BDE, 4th Infantry Division for four years. After returning from a year deployment in Iraq (Nov 05-06), I moved to Fort Gordon, Georgia, where I obtained my certification in Endodontics (’09). I returned to Fort Hood, Texas, to serve for three years as a clinical endodontist and served as the Chief of Endodontics for the US Army’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry program before leaving the military to make Texarkana my new home.

My wife, Samantha, and daughter, Savannah, have been calling Texarkana home now since mid May. We are really enjoying the community and are excited that we have a place to call home.

The Incredible Texarkana Endodontic Team

Patricia, Tina, Katie, and Jordan are all still working with me. They are the best group that I have had the pleasure of working with. I think at first they were a bit scared, I know I was, with all the change that was going on, but they are awesome and they got this! I realize that I am truly among some really great people. Not only do I have a staff that cares incredibly for patients but also they have made coming to work exciting and entertaining. Keep it up ladies!

Technology and Office Updates

I love computers and technology and try to stay on the cutting edge. To do so I am transitioning over to new software called TDO (The Digital Office). It is specialty software for Endodontists. This change will allow our new and returning patients to register online, complete medical history, and fill out any other paper work prior to coming into the office. We have added several tablet PCs to allow patients to fill out their paper work in the office should they feel more comfortable doing it here. In the operatories I have added to state-of-the-art microscopes that are equipped with digital photography to better document cases and educate patients on their specific needs. We employ digital radiography to get instant results but to also significantly decrease radiation exposure. TDO will allow referring doctors to log into a portal to see the status of how their patients’ treatment is progressing. TDO will also allow me to send out digital reports keeping referring doctors updated as treatment is completed. I am extremely excited with all the technological upgrades we are installing.

These are only a few of the many technology upgrades to come.

We are also adding some new decor. I have put up some of my US Army awards and coins that I have received over the years. More interesting are the handmade tapestries that I bought while visiting northern Thailand in the late 1980’s as a teenager.
